Replenishment Demands Data
Description
With a wealth of software management tools now available, how can retailers move from supply to demand led replenishment? Systems, data and process integration are the key.
Retailers can rarely quantify the full impact of inefficient replenishment, but the problem is clearly a painful one for them.
A number of initiatives have already been put in place that have made a major contribution to the efficiency of retailers, in the areas of automated replenishment, forecasting, efficient allocation, advanced category management and promotions planning, often in collaboration with suppliers.
Along with integrated data, putting into place a replenishment discipline which takes account of planning for the short-term, the medium term and the long-term is the correct approach.
